Our people are proud to work for us

Waste Recycling Group people are special, that’s why working for Waste Recycling Group has to be a special experience. But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what they have to say:

Our support

“Well, first of all, it’s bigger than you think. I’ve been here for a while now and truly believe this is an exciting time for Waste Recycling Group. There’s a great variety of work and there are opportunities to use your initiative to grow your role and flourish personally and professionally. (In other words, you won’t have managers breathing down your neck!)”

Devoted Blades fan Sara King joined us 15 years ago as a receptionist and is now HR Manager at our Doncaster office.

Our rewards

“Waste Recycling Group has the best people in the sector, which gives the opportunity for everyone to learn from them. The office environment is great; there are no closed doors and everyone is willing to listen if you have a good idea. The Board is motivated and professional and want to get the job done, so they employ people who are happy to work this way. With this goes a good package and related benefits.”

Family man David Truelove started his career as an Accountant, before joining us two years ago as Divisional Financial Controller in our Northampton office.

Our environment

“The best thing about Waste Recycling Group is the expertise of the people who work here. The environment is very supportive and people are always willing to help. Plus, if you’re willing to push yourself forward, they are always keen to develop staff.”

Our General Manager of FCC Projects, Dave Rees joined us 15 years ago as a placement student. He’s based at our Wrexham office where he handles everything from legal to credit agreements and service delivery to financial modelling.

Our diversity

“I joined Waste Recycling Group for the work-life balance and the chance to join an established in-house legal function. Whilst we work extremely hard, we get involved in some major projects and have a laugh. What I really enjoy is the diverse work and not knowing what will land on my desk! Growing my job and the challenging projects I work on really motivate me - I’m a waste anorak! I love it!”

Sports enthusiast Janet Freeman was an HR Manager and a private practice Solicitor before joining us 16 months ago as a Group Legal professional based in Northampton.

Our opportunities

“Waste Recycling Group is a big player in the industry and can offer big opportunities for our people to move around the country and learn new skills. It’s a massive industry that’s becoming more visible, thanks to the new focus on the environment.”

Mathew Stewart started his own business after college and subsequently worked in the aggregates and waste industry. He joined Waste Recycling Group 12 years ago as site manager, before becoming Commercial Manager within our Northampton office.

Our focus

“Waste Recycling Group is an open and inclusive organisation that has always been performance driven and is now starting to focus more on the behavioural side of getting the job done. We’re now thinking more about how the work gets done. Personally speaking the best thing about Waste Recycling Group is the opportunity to stretch out of your comfort zone.”

Father of two Richard Brooke joined us 11 years ago as a qualified Chartered Surveyor. He is now our Group Municipal Contracts Manager within the Northampton office.
